SJAP President Successfully Defends Dissertation

On Friday, April 7, 2023, SJAP President, Thomas Allison, successfully defended his dissertation for his second doctoral degree in public administration. Thomas holds a bachelors in business administration, juris doctorate (law degree), master’s degree in public administration, and now a doctorate in public administration.

Thomas dissertation was about constructing asset-based community development networks. The study produced a toolkit that provides an advocacy blueprint and tools to create, develop, and manage a community-based network. Diversity in the network is a requirement for true community impact; however, diverse networks are incredibly complicated to manage. This study makes this work more accessible to anyone looking to make change in their community.
