ART INSTITUTE

The Art Institute at the Center for Black Culture & Excellence is designed to teach, train, and elevate art in the Black community. The arts are an integral part of the Black community. They are key ways we define our culture and are the identifying characteristics of our culture. Black painting, sculpting, dance, song, poetry, music, and other forms of art define some of the hallmark contributions the Black community has provided the history and span of humanity. We see the world differently because of Black art, though the struggle has been the same.

We aspire to establish an arts program that provides access to students and artists at all levels and in all forms of art. Art should also be an avenue of earning a livable wage as art is an integral part of human expression and engagement.
