What is structural and systemic change?

We are focused on empowering the grassroots to connect to the power structure and focusing the efforts of the power structure on best serving the people.

Structural

The structure is the arrangement and connection of institutions within a society and how they are designed to perform. The U.S. is structured to prevent widespread change for the marginalized.

Systemic

Systemic issues are those found in the systems of public institutions. The legal, political, and economic systems in the U.S. have historically excluded the marginalized causing our current equity gaps.

Social

Social issues are those that impact the everyday living experiences of people. These experiences impact the mental, physical, and emotional health of individuals leading to a need for public services.

Making Change

Alone, we cannot change the U.S. structure, the systems of the various public institutions, or the social constructs that dictate everyday life. However, we are doing our part in educating, training, and empowering the community to make these changes. Together, we can make structural, system, and social change!

We seek volunteers and collaborators to assist us in our quest for structural, systemic, and social change. Through dynamic education, program, and empowerment, we believe we can equip and activate the community to take control of our power structure in a way that brings about more equity in our systems and society. See our discussion on social justice to understand how we do this.
