The Justice Center merges legal education with legal practice.

We provide access to pro bono attorney-supervised document preparation clinics by collaborating with college legal studies programs and law schools.

    We complete domestic violence restraining order requests and provide service instructions.

  • Family Law and Child Custody

    We cover divorces, parentages, custody and visitation, and child support cases.

  • Record Clean-Up

    We complete criminal record expungements and certificates of rehabilitation and pardon.

  • Housing and Evictions

    We assist with eviction defense document preparation for qualifying cases.

What is the mission of the Justice Center?

The mission of the Justice Center is to provide educational opportunities to legal students by training them to provide quality legal services to the community. Students gain real world practice experience by completing documents, conducting research, and facilitating communications with a lawyer. The public benefits from access to quality legal services and information.

How do services work?

Sign up for a local legal clinic. Show up at the scheduled day and time, and sign-in. Complete the intake form and engage in a brief presentation that outlines the clinic process and any applicable laws. Someone will come get you for your meeting. During your meeting, you will have an opportunity to ask any questions you have. If work can be completed on your case and you are not already represented, then we will complete applicable documents for you as well. You will be provided instructions on how to proceed in your case. This will end your session. Our providing legal clinic services does not in itself create an attorney-client relationship.

How much do services cost?

Legal clinic sessions are pro bono. Some document preparation services are available during the legal clinic session. However, if you desire legal services beyond what is offered in the legal clinic, we provide them based on a sliding fee scale. We assess the client’s need and the capacity of the clinic to fill the need in determining final fee.
